USC Basic Education Alumni Gathering & Advent Recollection 2025
On December 12, 2025, the San Carlos School of Cebu (formerly USC Basic Education) held its first Alumni Gathering and Advent Recollection at the USC South Campus, uniting alumni and partners in a prayerful celebration of faith and fellowship.
Organized by the Alumni and External Relations Office, the gathering reflected the school’s commitment to forming a Christ-centered community rooted in faith, service, and lifelong engagement. The recollection was led by Fr. Rogelio N. Bag-ao, SVD, with the Holy Mass concelebrated by members of the SVD community.
We thank all who joined on-site and online as we continue to journey together in faith and mission.
USC Basic Education Alumni Lenten Recollection 2026
Theme: “Witnesses to the Word, Walking Together: A Lenten Journey toward New Life”
On March 28, 2026, the USC Basic Education Alumni, together with faculty retirees and friends, gathered for a meaningful Lenten Recollection at the Joseph Jaschick Hall, San Carlos School of Cebu – South Campus. The event was held in a hybrid setup, allowing both on-site and Zoom participants to join in prayer and reflection.

The program opened with a warm welcome from Fr. Alfonso A. Araceli, SVD, MLIS, School Director. The reflection was led by Fr. Elorm Donatus Kwame Akpatsa, SVD, who invited everyone to live Lent with deeper faith, sincere conversion, and renewed hope.
​
The Eucharistic Celebration became the heart of the gathering, uniting all participants—on-site and online—in prayer, thanksgiving, and spiritual renewal.
​
After the Mass, on-site participants shared in fellowship over lunch, while Zoom participants remained connected in spirit, continuing the sense of community from afar.
​
Sincere thanks to Fr. Alfonso A. Araceli, SVD for his strong leadership and to all basic education alumni, faculty retirees, and friends who joined and made the event meaningful.
​
This gathering reminds us that, wherever we are, we are one family in faith—called to walk together as witnesses of God’s Word toward new life in Christ.
